GAYLESVILLE - With the threat of rain in the forecast for this weekend, officials have decided to move the Cherokee County Softball Tournament to Thursday afternoon in a single-elimination format.

It is still scheduled to be played at Gaylesville High School.

The tournament opens with Gaylesville taking on Cedar Bluff at 3:30 p.m., followed by Spring Garden and Cherokee County at 4:45 p.m.

The winner of the Gaylesville-Cedar Bluff game takes on Sand Rock at 6 p.m. The tournament championship is now scheduled for Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

The Cherokee County Baseball Tournament is still scheduled for this weekend in Gaylesville. No changes have been made as of this posting.

Friday's schedule includes Cherokee County taking on Gaylesville at 4 p.m., followed by Spring Garden taking on Sand Rock at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday's schedule includes Cedar Bluff taking on the winner of the Cherokee County-Gaylesville game at 2:30 p.m. The tournament consolation game is scheduled for 5 p.m., with the tournament championship game slated for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at Gaylesville.
