Megan McCullough was 3-for-5 at the plate for the Lady Wildcats (4-1, 1-0 Class 2A, Area 13). Courtney Williams, Taylor Rogers and McKenna Morgan all went 2-for-4.
Sand Rock scored four runs in the third on a RBI-single by Williams, an RBI-single by Madison McCullough, and a two-run double by Madalyn Oliver.
Hayes doubled in the fourth and fifth innings and singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.
Morgan picked up the win in the circle. She allowed three runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings with four walks and three strikeouts. Kaitlyn Dodd recorded the final two outs of the game.
Sand Rock is scheduled to host West End on Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Sand Rock 7, Gaston 3
SAND ROCK – Austin Chambers had a perfect day at the plate against Gaston, going 4-for-4 with a double and two runs to help Class 2A, No. 7 Sand Rock claim a 7-3 Area 13 baseball win over visiting Gaston on Tuesday.
Perry Stevens improved to 4-0 on the mound for the Wildcats (5-4). He tossed 5 1/3 innings, surrendering two runs to go along with nine strikeouts.
Ethan Jimmerson relieved Stevens, who struck out four. Jimmerson also had a pair of hits and a pair of RBIs.
Dustin Chambers had two hits and scored a run. Austin Godshall had a hit and a run for the Wildcats.
Sand Rock completes the series with the Bulldogs at Gaston on Thursday.
Spring Garden 14, Coosa Christian 0
GADSDEN – Grant Benefield allowed just one hit and recorded 10 strikeouts to lead Class 1A, No. 6 Spring Garden to a 14-0 baseball victory in five innings at Area 13 rival Coosa Christian on Tuesday.
Benefield also led the Panthers (7-3) at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Jake Grogan and Josh Hale had two hits apiece and both scored two runs. Will Penton, Will Westbrook and Andrew McLarty all had singles. Will Ivey walked three times and scored twice.
Spring Garden travels to Jacksonville on Wednesday before completing its series with Coosa Christian at home on Thursday.
Golf
Glencoe claims Cherokee County Country Club match
CENTRE – Glencoe’s Cole Fairley shot a 37 to lead the Yellowjackets to a golf match victory at the Cherokee County Country Club in Centre on Tuesday.
Glencoe shot 144 as a team to finish first. Piedmont, led by Hayden Downey’s 40, finished second at 171. Spring Garden, led by Jay Prater’s 41, finished third at 183. Cherokee County, led by Trent Edwards’ 39, took fourth at 196.
Other top scores for Spring Garden were Dustin Formby (43) and Dalton Kerr (44).
