The Lady Warriors (19-5) trailed the Lady Bulldogs (22-3) at halftime 32-27, but battled back to take a 46-43 lead at the end of the third quarter. Cherokee County went on a 19-4 run in the fourth quarter for the final.
In boys action, JoJo Diamond scored 21 points and Tony Pruitt tossed in 14 as the Warriors squeaked by Ashville 66-63.
The game was tight throughout, with the Warriors (6-18) holding a 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. The game was tied at 34 at halftime. Cherokee County managed to build a four-point cushion at 47-43 at the end of three quarters and had to hold on down the stretch.
Both Cherokee County teams are back in action on Tuesday at Piedmont.
