Mrs. Evelyn Louette Wood, 95 of Forney, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Wood was a native of Cherokee County, and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 pm at Bethel Baptist Church in Forney with Rev. Luther James Rosser officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 until 1 pm Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Cemetery Fund or the family will accept flowers. Survivors include her son, Harold W. Wood of Forney; daughter, Peggy Sue Dempsey of Forney; sisters, Betty Crider of Forney, Jean Hollice of Rome, and Francis Arnett of Birmingham; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
