Buzz Burger, beloved husband of Brenda Burger, truly adored Christmas and putting Christmas lights up for so many others to enjoy. As the family gathered to say their final goodbyes to Buzz they made a pact to meet at the family home on the weekend of Thanksgiving and put their father/uncles dreams back into reality.
They planned and to make it a weekend to remember him and the love he had for his family.
Not only were there nieces and nephews from Buzz’s side of the family but Brenda’s as well. Both sides of the family loved and adored their Uncle Buzz and could not wait to pay such a fitting tribute to this wonderful man.
There were two sides to Buzz. The family liked to kid him and call him “Mr. Griswald” because he would have his funny parts with Santa and all the fun things of Christmas but what was most important to him was the lighting of the cross at the top of the road for all those passing by to see.
It started out being fun for the kids and the look in their eyes to see all the fun things but Buzz wanted to maintain a serious side, knowing that Jesus is truly the reason for the season.
This year a few new lights will be hung that Buzz never got to see. They were given last year as Christmas presents because that’s what he specifically ask for. So this holiday season a few new pieces will be added to the collection, as this family truly shows that Christmas lives on at the Burger house!
You can see the Burger lights on Pinecone Street in Leesburg, off of Hwy. 411 near Pinecone Marina.
