According to Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade, the body is believe to be the remains of one of four people who have been missing for years.

Reports indicate that James Patrick Burrows and Jeffrey Scott McFry went missing from Piedmont in 1990 while Karen Steed was last seen some 15 years ago and Carla Cook Fuqua disappeared three years ago.

While they do not yet know the sex or age of the person foul play was likely involved, said Cherokee County Sheriff Larry Amerson.
