After a scoreless first quarter, Munford (5-3, 4-2) built a 20-0 advantage heading into the half. Eric Baird got the Lions going with a 4-yard touchdown run. The extra point made it 7-0.
The next two Munford scores came courtesy of quarterback Monteo Garrett and receiver CJ Chapman. The duo connected on scoring strikes from 4 and 38 yards to extend the Lion lead to 20-0.
Garrett completed 10 of 16 pass attempts for 91 yards and two touchdowns. Chapman caught four passes for 55 yards and two scores.
The Lions extended their advantage to 27-0 in the third quarter on Tavon Lawson's 55-yard punt return for a touchdown.
The Warriors (0-8, 0-6) finally got on the scoreboard later in the third quarter as senior quarterback Tanner Young connected with senior running back D.J. McAllister on a 26-yard touchdown pass. The extra point was no good, keeping the score at 27-6.
Young tossed his second touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to senior receiver Jacob Whitmire. The connection covered 25 yards. Junior running back Ty Green rushed in for the 2-point conversion, making the score 27-14 Lions.
Garrett accounted for Munford's next score - this time on the ground. He dashed into the end zone on a 6-yard run. The point after made it 34-14 Lions.
The Young-to-Whitmire connection hooked up again late in the game on a 58-yard scoring strike. Eric Burgess added the extra point for the final.
Young completed 10 of his 19 pass attempts for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Whitmire finished with three catches for 91 yards and two scores. McAllister also caught three passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. He was the Warriors' top rusher with 79 yards on 15 carries. Green added 72 yards on 21 totes.
Cherokee County closes out the 2012 season on Friday at home against Hokes Bluff. Munford travels to Anniston.
