Piedmont pounds Glencoe, 49-7

PIEDMONT – The Class 3A, No. 2 Piedmont Bulldogs posted a 49-7 victory against Region 5 rival Glencoe on Friday.

Sarandon Dunbar led the charge for the Bulldogs(3-0, 2-0 Region 5), rushing for 130 yards on 12 carries. Quarterback Cade Bradley only passed six times, completing four attempts for 37 yards and a score.

Piedmont scored its first touchdown on Exavyer Jackson's 1-yard run with 9:38 left in the first quarter. Dillon Terry's extra point made it 7-0 Bulldogs.

Tre Reese later added a 17-yard touchdown run to make it 14-0 in the first quarter.

The Bulldog offense continued its production in the second quarter. A 27-yard run by Dreek Thompson, Bradley's 40-yard scoring run and his 18-yard touchdown connection with receiver CJ Savage helped give Piedmont an insurmountable 35-0 lead before halftime.

Darnell Jackson added a 26-yard touchdown run in the third and backup quarterback Sloan Tyler finished off the Bulldogs' scoring with a 73-yard run in the fourth.

Glencoe (1-2, 1-1) scored its lone touchdown on Thomas Ozmint's 13-yard run with 9:30 remaining in the game.

Piedmont travels to Cleveland next Friday, while Glencoe hosts White Plains.
