Things to do in Cherokee County Tuesday, Sept. 11

The annual September 11th Memorial will take place Tuesday, on the front lawn of the Cherokee County Courthouse beginning at 8:30 a.m. A procession consisting of emergency vehicles from both Cherokee and Dekalb Counties, will be leaving from the K-Mart parking lot at 8:15 a.m., traveling east on Main Street to the courthouse to the memorial. The public is encouraged to attend and support their local first responders.

Children’s Story Time presents fun with stories, songs, crafts and more from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library.

Looking for a worthy chess opponent? The Chess Club meets Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library.



Weight Watchers meets every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the school bus shop in Centre. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 256-526-8003.

The Centre City Council meets at 5 p.m. at Centre City Hall on Main Street.
