Do you know of a great Little River Canyon story? The public is invited to share their history at the park. Come tell your story, bring documents and pictures of the park to the Little River Canyon Center on August 25, 2012. This History Day is from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Visitors are asked to bring their old photos, articles, and stories to tell about the park. The park staff is interested in how the park was used by your family. What was the park like before it was a park? What was life like for your family? We want to digitally record documents, photos, and family stories. The park will preserve and share your stories with future visitors and researchers, if the owner allows. If disaster should strike your family treasures, these copies would be a backup. We do not want or need to keep your original family heirlooms. We will have a copy stand, scanner, and video camera to copy items while you are here. Contact the park at (256) 845-9605 to set up a time for your stories to be videoed, or to have material copied. If you know some stories, have photos, or want to just see some history, come on out. If you know someone with stories please ask them to contact the park. Families are encouraged to join us for this program. For more information call the park office at (256)845-9605. You can follow our updates and find park pictures on Facebook at “lirinps.”
