The Partnership for a Drug-Free Cherokee meets at noon in the meeting room at Lanny’s Restaurant. This meeting is for anyone concerned about our community’s drug epidemic. Lunch is Dutch treat.
The Family Care Center at 1014 West Main St. includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need. The Center asks for your help by supporting its thrift stores. There are currently two locations, the one in Centre and another at 5511 Main St. in Hokes Bluff. The Center is currently helping more than 100 families per week and thanks the community for its continued support. Director is Cindy McGinnis.
Kiwanis of Cherokee County meets the second and fourth Wednesday at noon in the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce headquarters on the campus of Gadsden State Community College-Cherokee, 801 Cedar Bluff Road in Centre. .
The Cherokee County Park Board meets the second and fourth Wednesday at 1 p.m. in their new office space at 104-B Northwood Drive in Centre in the same building with John Coggin's Law office. Meetings are open to the public.
