Cherokee County’s 14th Annual Home and Garden Show 2012 is Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Gadsden State Community College-Cherokee Arena, sponsored by the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.

Team Angela will be having an annual fund-raiser yard sale in the old Centre Middle School Gymnasium in downtown Centre. Items for sale include: Housewares, linens, furniture, appliances, electronics,collectibles,clothing, toys, baby items and more. All proceeds go to American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Call 256-504-5998 to donate items for the sale. Donations are tax deductible.

A book signing will be held for Frog Mountain Memories, From the Back Roads of My Heart. by Martha Penland Haney from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cherokee Historical Museum.

In high school baseball action, Spring Garden plays at Spain Park (DH) beginning at 10 a.m., Cedar Bluff plays Lincoln at Saks beginning at 11 a.m. and Section plays at Collinsville (DH) beginning at 11 a.m.

In high school softball action, Piedmont plays at Calhoun County Tournament (Woodland Park), to be announced.

Sunday, April 15

This coming Sunday, April 15, the “Justified Quartet” will be singing at New Bethel Baptist Church located at 9635 U.S. Hwy. 411 Centre, AL 35960, for their Homecoming Service that starts at 10:30am. That very same day, the group will sing at Pleasant Arbor Baptist Church located in the heart of Spring Garden at 4825 County Road 29 Piedmont, AL 36272. The service startes at 5 p.m.

The Centre First Baptist Church contemporary worship service, “Impact” begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Edge, a contemporary worship service that welcomes each person as he or she is and challenges us all to grow together in our faith in Jesus Christ, meets at 8:45 a.m. at Centre First United Methodist Church.

Visit the beautiful Rock Village, home of some of the best hiking and rock climbing throughout the world. Enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery. Go to the intersection of U.S. Highway 411 and Highway 68 in Leesburg, turn right, turn left on Cherokee County 36, to the intersection of County Road 36 and County Road 70, turn left and follow the signs.

Visit the historical Cornwall Furnace on Cherokee County Road 92 in Cedar Bluff.
