Waste Management and Three Corners Landfill, 2205 County Road 6, Piedmont, Ala. 35972, offers a free dump day the first Saturday of each month for all Cherokee County residents from 8 a.m. until noon. Little River Canyon National Preserve will host the first of many Scale Back Alabama walking events starting at 10 a.m. For more information, contact Ranger Larry Beane at 256-845-9605.

Fellowship Baptist Church in Gadsden will host a Winter Wonderland Praise Dance Showcase beginning at 5 p.m. The event will be held at the Fellowship Youth Center on Avenue D in downtown Gadsden.

The Edge, a contemporary worship service that welcomes each person as he or she is and challenges us all to grow together in our faith in Jesus Christ, meets at 8:45 a.m. at Centre First United Methodist Church.

Catholic Mass is held the first and third Sundays at 5 p.m. at the Knowledge Tree Day Care in Centre.
