The Cherokee County Country Club will host a Par 3 golf tournament on Saturday. All 18 holes will be played as par 3s, with tee markers set from 60 to 150 yards from each hole. The tournament will be flighted as long as there are more than 15 players entered into the event. The cost is $15 and three places will be paid in each flight.
Going Home is a free workshop for returning inmates and their families, from 10:30 – noon, at the Cherokee Baptist Association Building (next to Days Inn), 1575 West Main Street, Centre. Learn what life is like after an inmate comes home from prison, and how you can make the transition easier for everyone. A free lunch will be served following the workshop.

In high school basketball action, Sand Rock will play at Gaston at 1 p.m. and Cherokee County High School plays at Fort Payne beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Shady Grove Baptist Church on Cherokee County Road 22 on the Mountain is having a singing Saturday, Jan. 21, beginning at 6 p.m. Special singers will be Mountain Wind of the Sand Mountain area. Members invite everyone to attend.
