According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, on Thursday February 28th, Cherokee County Narcotics Agents went to a residence located at 7042 County Road 6 in Piedmont, to attempt to serve an arrest warrant on an individual wanted for the unlawful purchase of Psuedo Ephedrine. Upon entering the residence, agents detected a strong odor consistent with the odor of burning marijuana and located the wanted suspect, Joshua Corey Jackson, in the living room of the residence and immediately placed him in custody.

A consent to search the residence was obtained from the homeowner and a subsequent search of the residence produced several items of drug paraphernalia and some powder residue which field tested positive for methamphetamine. The Jackson subject, along with a female subject identified as Lindsay Nicole Davis, were arrested and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center where they were booked on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jackson was also charged on the outstanding warrant and both sujects remain in jail with bond pending, Shaver said.
