Ivey also added three assists and two steals for the Panthers (10-8). Josh Hale had 12 points, five steals and three rebounds. Jake Grogan finished with six points, three rebounds and a pair of steals.
Zac Moody led Southeastern with eight points. Tanner Lewis finished with five points.
Spring Garden jumped out to a 23-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 42-10 at halftime.
Spring Garden travels to Woodland on Tuesday.
Piedmont’s Garner scores 1,000th point in win over Ohatchee
OHATCHEE – Piedmont senior forward Sarah Garner eclipsed the 1,000-point barrier for her career Thursday, finishing with 15 points as the Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 57-30 victory at Ohatchee.
Garner joins teammate BreAnna Thompson with over 1,000 points for their varsity basketball careers. Ironically, Thompson recorded her 1,000th point earlier this season against Ohatchee.
Thompson finished with 20 points for Piedmont (15-5) on Thursday.
In boys action, the Bulldogs posted a 75-47 victory over the Indians to improve to 6-13. No further information was available.
Piedmont hosts Weaver on Friday.
Gaylesville splits with Pleasant Valley
GAYLESVILLE – Taylor Tomlin tallied 21 points and Alex Montgomery added 11 to lead the Gaylesville Lady Trojans to a 52-23 victory over visiting Pleasant Valley on Thursday.
The Lady Trojans improved to 6-8 with the win.
In the nightcap, Gable Lawson led the Trojan boys with 11 points, but Gaylesville fell to the Raiders 45-34.
Gaylesville dropped to 2-12 with the loss.
Both Gaylesville teams get back in action on Tuesday at Georgia School for the Deaf.
Collinsville sweeps Sylvania
COLLINSVILLE – Deshawn Moore posted 24 points, eight rebounds and eight steals to lead Class 1A, No. 3 Collinsville to a 56-31 victory over visiting Sylvania on Thursday.
David Hernandez added 12 points and six boards for the Panthers (16-2). Davey Posey had five assists.
Collinsville lead at halftime 26-17, then outscored the Rams 30-14 in the second half.
In the girls game, Christy Cox and Savannah Boyles both netted 17 points to lead the Lady Panthers to a 73-62 victory over Sylvania.
Cox also had six rebounds for Collinsville (13-4). Kiana Ford came away with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. Brittney Tidmore tallied seven points and nine assists.
Collinsville travels to Coosa Christian on Friday.
