This Saturday brings the 2013 version of Lions Club Pancake Day. The event will begin at 6 a.m. and continue through noon. Tickets are $5 each, $3 for chldren under 6, and are being sold by all Lions Club members. Tickets will also be available at the door. Both eat-in and take out service will offered. The event will be held at the Centre First Baptist Church’s recreational outreach building (ROC), at the intersection of Alabama Highway 9 and the the U.S. 411 Chesnut By-Pass.

In high school baseball action, Piedmont plays at Cedar Bluff (DH) beginning at 11 a.m., Spring Garden plays at Faith Christian (DH) beginnining at 11 a.m. and Cherokee County plays at Fort Payne (DH) beginning at 1 p.m.
In high school softball action, the Cherokee County Invitational Tourament will be played at the Gadsden State Community College-Cherokee Softball Complex, to be decided.
