Children ages 5 through fifth grade are invited to participated in SURGE (Students Uniting to Reach God Everyday!) scheduled for this Saturday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the ROC. There will be games, music, crafts and other activities. Lunch will be provided.

National Park Rangers Larry Beane and Miranda Brown will present programs on Native American Tools and Weapons at the Little River Canyon Center on July 14, 2012. The programs will be at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The programs will include making arrowheads, using the atlatl for throwing spears, and several games. Families are encouraged to join us for this program. The Native American people who lived here had a very good life. Their tools, weapons and games were all made of things from nature. For more information call the park office at 256-845-9605. Bay Springs Motel and Campground resumes its Saturday Night Gospel singings which will be held the second and fourth Saturday night of each month beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is free. Menlo, Ga. Church of Christ will have Homecoming and Gospel meetings July 15-18. Sunday meetings begin at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday evening services begin at 7 p.m. eastern time. Speaker will be Brother Gary Stanfield from Albertville.
National Park Ranger Rose Ollis will present Fred the Fish, a children’s program at 1 p.m., Sunday July 15. Meet at the Canyon Mouth Picnic Area building at 1200 County Road 275, Cedar Bluff, Ala. 35959. The program will last about half an hour. Join Fred the Fish on an adventure downstream from Little River. Although the programs are free, the $3 per car fee at the gate still applies upon entering.
