One of last season’s area high school and college football highlights is returning for another season beginning Aug. 30 at 6 p.m.

WEIS radio's “The End Zone Show”, which featured segments with current and former area high school football players and coaches, along with a roundtable of college football picks from WEIS radio sports commentator Nolen Sanford, The Post’s Scott Wright and The Herald’s Shannon Fagan, will once again hit the WEIS radio waves (100.5 FM and 990 AM). This season’s show includes those same segments with some added twists.

According to station manager Jerry Baker, 3 Style Pizza restaurant on Cedar Bluff Road next to Goodies in the Cherokee Plaza, will serve as the site host for the show. Duryea and Sanford will begin the show featuring area school impact players as chosen by their respective head coaches.

The second quarter segment of the show, “Blast from the Past”, provides former players and coaches the opportunity to share their memories of classic area high school games.

A third quarter open portion of the show will be filled with updated rankings, news on recruits and more.

The show closes with Southeastern Conference, Jacksonville State and Shorter College football picks from an “expert” panel against a roundtable of select “ex-experts.”

The “ex-experts” are former coaches and players who will deliver their picks against Sanford, Wright and Fagan.

Prior to “The End Zone” program kickoff at 3 Style Pizza, WEIS preseason football coverage begins on Aug. 23 with a 2-hour game day beginning at 5:30 p.m. from the Cedar Bluff jamboree.
