Sand Rock girls, boys claim basketball wins at Ider

IDER – Sand Rock swept a varsity basketball doubleheader Monday at Ider. The Lady Wildcats claimed a 58-48 victory, while the Wildcat boys earned a 51-34 win.

In the girls game, Madison Smith posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for ninth-ranked Sand Rock (16-5). She also had three blocked shots and an assist.

Courtney Rowe came away with 13 points, seven steals, five assists and three rebounds. Amber Ashley added 10 points, six boards, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Madison McCullough had seven points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Emily Langley contributed five points, eight assists and four rebounds. Shelley Sonaty finished with five points and four steals.

In the nightcap, Dakota Mabry posted 11 points and Dylan Mackey added 10 in the Sand Rock win, improving the Wildcats’ record to 9-12.

Both teams host Glencoe on Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
