HIGDON – Collinsville’s Justin Little and DeShawn Moore both scored touchdowns and David Hernandez added a 32-yard field goal, but their efforts weren’t enough in a 27-17 loss at North Sand Mountain in football jamboree action over the weekend.

Quarterback CJ Jones had 13 completions in only four series on offense for the Panthers. Collinsville spread the ball around with five players having a catch and three players carrying the ball in only two-and-a-half quarters.

“We moved the ball well,” Collinsville coach Alan Beckett said. “The varsity scored three of the four times we had the ball. The only time we didn’t score, we were driving and fumbled. We had some big plays defensively. However, we have to tackle better and we gave up too many big plays. This gives us lots to work on.”

Collinsville opens the 2012 season at home on Thursday against Coosa Christian.
