Ivey, Westbrook lead Spring Garden baseball team to win at Gaylesville

GAYLESVILLE - Will Ivey tossed five innings of 2-hit ball, and Will Westbrook closed out the final two innings to lead the Spring Garden Panthers to an 11-3 baseball win at Gaylesville in the Tri-County Tournament on Monday.

Ivey earned the win for the Panthers (2-2). He gave up two earned runs with a walk.

Westbrook allowed one hit and no runs in relief. He also led the Panthers at the plate with three hits, two RBIs and a run scored.

Chase Howell also had three hits and two RBIs. Will Penton and Josh Hale added a pair of hits apiece. Grant Benefield and Jake Grogan both had hits. Ivey walked and scored three runs.

The Tri-County Tournament continues on Tuesday at Sand Rock. Gaston plays Spring Garden and Sand Rock in a doubleheader.
