CRUZIN' EVENT RAISES $1,000. The Big E Cruzin' 4 Charity event held June 9 in Centre City Park raised $1,000 for the Children's Advocacy Center of Cherokee County. Lori Lumsden Harris, CAC Director, said, “We are most grateful for the Big E Cruzin’ 4 Charity. It’s another example of how our community always rallies together to help us protect the children and provide services for abused children here in Cherokee County. In a year that has been particularly financially straining and difficult, we are most grateful for people like this who step up to the plate to make sure we can continue to provide services.”
Alan Amos, president of Cruzin’ 4 Charity, explained, “ …what started as an idea became reality on June 9. We did fairly well…would like to have had more folks but we learned lessons in this.”
He said plans are already in the formative stages for the event next year with the date to be announced later. Amos continued by saying, “…we will do a different charity every year.”
He said the group will have a booth at the Centre Fall Festival promoting the organization.
Amos said they also have other events planned that will aid their contributions to various charities.
