Rickey Pendley added 16 points, with 10 coming in the second half for the Tigers (7-3, 2-2). Robert Henderson came away with eight points and two steals. Levi Mintz and Dalton Cosby both netted six points. Mintz also had five rebounds and four assists. Cosby added four boards.
Gable Lawson led the Trojans (1-6, 0-3) with 22 points and six rebounds. Blaine Broome added 12 points and three steals. Cole Murphy finished with three points, five rebounds and four steals.
Cedar Bluff led throughout the game. The Tigers held a 12-4 lead at the end of the first, led 26-13 at halftime and held a 47-28 advantage at the end of three quarters.
In girls action, the Lady Tigers jumped out to a 13-point first-quarter lead and didn’t look back, claiming a 57-21 victory.
Senior forward Audrianna Hargitt led Cedar Bluff (7-6, 2-2) with 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Hannah Leach contributed 13 points, seven boards and a pair of steals. Lexi Moten netted 12 points and Jasmine Adams finished with eight points, five rebounds and three steals.
Taylor Tomlin tallied eight points, seven boards and three steals to lead the Lady Trojans (4-3, 1-2). Lauren Hammett added five points, five rebounds and three steals. Sydney Hammett contributed four points, eight boards and three blocked shots. Alex Montgomery finished with two points, six rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.
Cedar Bluff led 19-6 at the end of the first quarter and 30-15 at halftime. The Lady Tigers held a 43-21 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
Both Cedar Bluff teams are in action again next Thursday against Glencoe in the Cherokee Invitational. The Lady Tigers play at 6:45 p.m., followed by the Tiger boys at 8 p.m., at the Gadsden State-Cherokee Arena.
Gaylesville also gets back in action next Thursday in the Invitational against Spring Garden. The girls game tips off at 4:15 p.m., while the boys are scheduled to get underway at 5:30 p.m. at Cherokee County High School.
